The European Innovation Partnership 'Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability' (EIP-AGRI) is an initiative for the promotion of agriculture and forestry
What is EIP-AGRI?
The object of EIP-AGRI is to improve the exchange between modern research and technology, on the one hand, and agricultural and forestry practices, on the other hand.
EIP-AGRI is intended to help create a competitive primary sector that warrants the essential requirements for food safety:
- worldwide availability of food,
- a broad range of products and diversified production systems,
- the long-term supply of various raw materials for the production of food and non-food products, and
- a well-balanced value chain.
Creating synergies through cooperation
The Austrian Rural Development Programme 2014 - 2020 supports what are known as operational groups. These are formed by interested players in agriculture and forestry, research, consulting and the food sector with a view to implementing joint innovation projects in line with their particular interests.
