Communication with the Ministry
There are various possibilities to get into contact with the Ministry: Questions and concerns can either be submitted by telephone, by mail, electronically or personally.
This announcement takes place on the basis of Section 13 of the General Administrative Procedures Act 1991 AVG

If a contribution by telephone is not sufficient for the authority, the authority can set an appropriate deadline for a written or oral contribution. Please note that appeals and applications, which are subject to a deadline or determine the period of time, shall be submitted in writing.

Written contributions can be submitted electronically by email. Maximum size of the document including file attachments: 17 MB.
Emails must comply with the current MIME-RFC standards. File attachments with executable programme parts (e.g. macros) as well as encrypted attachments (e.g. password protected zip files) are blocked and thus not accepted. The SPF entry of the sender is checked as well, and in case of its misconfiguration the email is not accepted.
Should an electronic application arrive at another body than the competent one it is considered to be filed when it has been forwarded to the address mentioned and has arrived there.

The following applies to all file attachments: If it contains activatable programmes (e.g. macros), the acceptance of these attachments is prevented. Incoming emails with file attachments which show a format which is not accepted at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Regions and Water Management end up in a spam folder and are not forwarded to the recipient.
Moreover, all emails are checked for malware or potentially malicious contents and only after the release are they forwarded to the recipient. Should the message contain defective components the whole message will be deleted. In this case, the sender will not receive a notification.
Electronic delivery
The official communication with and between authorities (verifiable exchange of documents) can take place via electronic systems, for example ELAK im Bund (electronic file in the Federal Government).
