Product specifications for wines with designations of origin
Product specifications warrant international protection of origins.
According to the EU's Common Market Organisation, a description of the most important production conditions must be provided for every wine with a designation of origin (in Austria "Landwein" and "Qualitätswein"). These are known as product specifications and warrant international protection of Austria's wine origins.
