Research services
The research services of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management are a special feature in the Austrian research landscape. They work on research questions from the Ministry's sphere of competence and, through direct contact with practice, are able to take up current problems and promptly develop appropriate solutions.
A total of nine research-active departments belong to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management. They are important partners of research for practice. There is a wide range of practice-oriented research from food security and future-fit living environments to the challenges of climate change and digitisation.
The Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management coordinates the research activities performed by the services. The development strategies as well as the annual working programmes and research areas are published in order to ensure the traceability, use of synergies and the efficient use of funds provided by the Federal Government.
