Family-friendly work
As strengthening a family-friendly business culture as part of its enterprise policy has been important to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management
and its predecessor organisations) for a long time, we successfully continued the auditing process at the Central Unit by implementing the re-audit.
On 28 January 2020, the Ministry was awarded the quality label “berufundfamilie” (job and family) for its committed action for a family-friendly policy.
The re-audit examines the extent to which the measures agreed at the time of the audit have been implemented. Moreover, advanced goals and measures are agreed upon for the three years to come.
For the years to come, the following priorities are to be set:
- Measures for the preservation and improvement of health (lectures, seminars, workshops, discussions)
- Healthy leadership - Support regarding topics like “work life balance” or individual circumstances of staff members
- External occupational psychology agency providing advice to staff members in stressful situations
- Accompanying staff development measures for executives concerning mobile working/new work organisation
Major measures which are already in place and will be continued in the future
- Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management kindergarten
- School-holiday care - offers for the summer months
- Measures of the Ministry to improve the compatibility of care for elderly relatives and job commitments, such as temporary, short-time occasional (mobile) teleworking
- Teleworking option for staff members
- Flexible working hours for part-time jobs
- Bringing children in emergencies
- Health / Preventive health check-ups
