With the digitisation offensive the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management supports projects which are looking for concrete solutions for practice. There is great interest on the part of research institutions.

The Ministry of Agriculture promotes the practice-oriented research in the field of digitisation and makes available for applied research projects, which are looking for concrete solutions for practice, two million euros in addition to the current activities. The initiative has met with great response. All in all 15 projects with a volume of 2-9 million euros have been submitted.

The submitted projects have a wide range. Several project ideas are dedicated to the field of animal welfare. Projects on agriculture and forestry also focus on the topics climate change and sustainability. Other topics are tourism and Alpine pasturage as well as education and life in rural areas.

Most submissions come from Universities (University of Life Sciences and Natural Resources, University of Veterinary Medicine, University of Technology, University Innsbruck) and the Austrian Institute of Technology.
